Exploration in Printmaking: Young Artists Shine at Bear Creek Elementary

This spring at Bear Creek Elementary, creativity is taking center stage thanks to an inspiring art class hosted by Future Hearts, Minds & Dreamers. Their “Exploration in Printmaking” class offers K through 5th grade students a unique chance to express themselves through the dynamic and tactile world of printmaking.

Under the thoughtful guidance of Ms. Lori Llerandi, students are learning traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques—including linocuts, lithography, and collographs—in a studio-style environment that’s as fun as it is enriching. But more than technique, the focus of this class is on exploration, creativity, and the joy of self-expression.

Each session allows students to build confidence in their artistic abilities while diving deep into hands-on processes. Whether they’re carving intricate designs, layering materials, or experimenting with color and pattern, students are encouraged to make bold choices and embrace their own artistic style.

Ms. Llerandi brings both expertise and warmth to the classroom, creating a space where students feel safe to experiment and take creative risks. Her passion for teaching and dedication to the arts shines through in every lesson, as she helps students discover not just how to make art—but how to find their voice through it.

Thanks to Future Hearts, Minds & Dreamers, Bear Creek’s art room has become a vibrant hub of youthful creativity. The walls are now filled with student prints that reflect individuality, imagination, and the exciting energy of artistic discovery.
